About The Roman Baths
The Roman Baths sit on Abbey Churchyard in the city centre, next to Bath Abbey, six metres below today's street level. People in Roman Britain came here to worship the goddess Sulis Minerva and bathe in natural thermal springs that still flow with hot water. The site calls it one of the best...

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I book Roman Baths tickets in advance?
Booking ahead secures your time slot and costs £2 less than buying on the day. Tickets are only sold through the Roman Baths' own website, which warns of a fake ticket site.
Is the audio guide included?
Yes, in 13 languages. There is also a free children's guide, a British Sign Language guide and an audio-described guide.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
The site says it is 90% accessible to wheelchair users, with four lifts to the lower levels and the Great Bath. No more than four wheelchair users can be on the lower levels at once, so call ahead.
Can I bring luggage?
No. Backpacks up to 30 litres are allowed, but suitcases and large rucksacks are not, and there is no storage on site.
When is it quietest?
Outside summer, weekday mornings are usually quietest. From mid-July to August, evenings and before 10am are less crowded.
