Privacy and cookies
Best of Bath is an independent local guide. We collect as little as we can, and nothing that identifies you unless you choose to give it.
Analytics, only with your consent
We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see which guides and listings people find useful. Analytics cookies are set only after you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you decline, Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode that records aggregate page counts without identifiers or cookies. You can change your choice at any time: .
Cookies and local storage
| Name | Purpose | Set when |
|---|---|---|
| bob_consent_v1 | Remembers your cookie choice (browser local storage, not sent to us) | After you accept or decline |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics visitor and session identifiers | Only after you accept |
Maps
Business pages embed a Google Map of the venue. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads; see Google's privacy policy for details.
Server logs
Our hosting provider, Netlify, keeps standard access logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type) for security and performance for a limited period.
Newsletter and forms
The newsletter is not yet live. The "Advertise with us" link opens a Google Form; anything you enter there is handled under Google's terms and used only to reply to you.
Your rights and contact
Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Contact details are on our About page.
